Our Story
Building a healthcare ecosystem from the ground up
Akoma+ was born from a vision to transform cardiovascular care in Ghana and West Africa. We recognized a critical gap: while world-class medical expertise exists, it's often concentrated in major cities, leaving rural and underserved communities without access to essential cardiovascular screening and care.
Our solution is an integrated ecosystem that connects four key components: a foundation driving research and community outreach, mobile diagnostic units bringing screening to remote areas, regional clinics providing ongoing care, and a tertiary center of excellence for advanced procedures.
Today, Akoma+ is actively screening communities across Ghana, building partnerships with regional healthcare facilities, and preparing to launch a state-of-the-art tertiary care center. We're not just building infrastructure—we're building a movement that puts cardiovascular health within reach of everyone.
